One and only grand canyon of West Bengal is GANGANI , situated in GARHBETA in the district of West Midnapur . It is around 190 Km from Kolkata . 

It is a beautiful and perfect place for one day trip . It takes only 3 hour and 30 minutes to reach there from Howrah Station by train. Many trains are available and also bus services from any part of West Bengal is available. In bus It takes 5-6 hours to reach there from Kolkata . You can also go there by private or any commercial vehicles it will takes 5 hours to reach there through the national highway 16 via Howrah Solop Kona Expressway Alampur Dhulagarh Panchla Uluberia Bagnan Kolaghat mechogram Kharagpur Medinipur salboni and Garhbeta. It is in the border of West Midnapore and Bankura district.

The place is famous for grand canyon which is created by soil erosion of Silabati river . 


The Grand canyons are very old. It is created by the erosion of soil in the river bank of Silabati. it is a very amazing adventurous place.


The silabati river near gongoni is not deep so you can also have a bath in the river. The water is very fine, moderate and the river bank is very beautiful.


It is a perfect place in the West Bengal to click some serious nature photography and also selfie and human being photography.



Winter is the perfect season to visit there as the weather is  so cold and you have no problem to climb out the Grand Canyon. You can go anywhere in the Grand Canyon but in summer it will be difficult because of the scorching heat of the Sun.


You will definitely enjoy the nature beauty with and unknown place in West Bengal you cannot find any place in West Bengal like that the place is totally different from the other places of West Bengal. 


Riverside villages are also very beautiful. You can also visit those villages. The villages are very amazing with some green fields. LotS of farmers are working. There a small river is going in the middle of the field. Some big coconut trees Palm trees are standing on the field.  Some cattles, cows are grazing on the field. The scenario of the village is really beautiful.
